Jasper Schweppe began his studies at the conservatory of Zwolle and finished his education with a solo diploma at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. Jasper is experienced in many different styles of music. From the 1000 year old Gregorian chant with the ensemble Hartkeriana to contemporary music. Jasper likes to sing baroque and early baroque music. Every season JS Bach often appears but especially composers like Claudio Monteverdi and Constantijn Huygens are his favorites. Jasper sang in several opera-productions. With conductor Frans Brüggen and his Orchestra of the 18th Century he participated in the international acclaimed production of Rameau’s Les Indes Galantes. Also with Camerata Trajectina he performed several opera productions among which with the famous Dutch writer Gerrit Komrij. Jasper works on regular basis with conductors like Ton Koopman, Jan Willem de Vriend, Risto Joost, Jos van Veldhoven, Peter Dijkstra and Pieter Jan Leusink. A special love jasper has for songs, melodies and lied. He was first prize winner in Musicora a competition in Paris for contemporary French song. Since than he sang many recitals all around Europe. His CD, La Bonne Chanson with songs by Gabriel Fauré on Verlaine poetry was well received by the critics. Jasper sings as choir singer in all important professional choirs in The Netherlands and he’s since 2005 core member and artistic coordinator at Nederlands Kamerkoor.
