Would there be a performer who is more committed than Reinbert de Leeuw? De Leeuw’s countless performances and recordings, often in collaboration with the composers, make for a brilliant oeuvre. His friends at Asko|Schönberg and the Muziekgebouw gave him the best possible gift for his 80th birthday: Acqua Alta, a new composition by the beloved Russian composer Valery Voronov (1970). The ouverture of this work was performed earlier, at his birthday, under the title Touch the Cloud. Together with Asko|Schönberg, the Nederlands Kamerkoor will be bringing this as a world premiere in Amsterdam.
