With the music theatre work Between Two Lights, the Netherlands Chamber Choir and Muziektheater Transparant present a world premiere by one of the most important Chinese composers of the moment, Huang Ruo. Between Two Lights is about the transition from one life to another. A moment of silence, of non-existence. Does it end here or is there a glimmer of new perspective? That is not only a question for ourselves, but also for humanity as a whole. We live in crises: the corona crisis, the climate crisis. Are we able to make the right choices?

Between Two Lights is about the transition from one life to another”

In his work, Huang Ruo is building on a new musical style that bridges two seemingly completely different musical worlds – that of the West and that of Asia. With Between Two Lights, the Netherlands Chamber Choir presents a much-discussed thought-provoking performance, in co-production with the O festival and Muziektheater Transparant from Antwerp.
