For electric harp and chamber choir

A 21st century vision of Brahms’ famous work: the lonely harp of Remy van Kesteren facing the complete Nederlands Kamerkoor. The vocal parts remain largely intact, but the orchestral part are re-presented by composer Yannis Kyriakides and Remy van Kesteren for the electric harp that Remy himself developed. A devilish challenge.

Remy van Kesteren (1989) is one of the world’s most adventurous harpists and has been at the top from a young age. He was accepted to the Conservatory of Utrecht at ten, made his debut in the Concertgebouw with the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra at sixteen, and won the Prinses Christina Concours in 2004. Recently, he won the US International Harp Competition. He joined numerous groundbreaking projects, such as a cooperation with ballet choreographer Hans van Manen in 2014.

Together with the sensational Belgian Baroque Ensemble B’Rock, the Nederlands Kamerkoor presents Mozart’s Requiem, for the first time in years, under none other than chief conductor Peter Dijkstra. The structure of the programme creates tremendous tension, with the ominous Libera Me by the young Slovenian composer Nana Forte, Arvo Pärt’s Trisagion, and Schubert’s exquisite Stabat […]

The Nederlands Kamerkoor ushers in the new year with a spectacular a cappella programme. The Russian singer and researcher Daniil Sayapin has collected some unique scores from Russian convents and archives. Works in the so-called Strochnoe tradition, which with their astonishing harmonies may sound strange to Western ears. With Sayapin as precentor, the Nederlands Kamerkoor […]
