The Concertgebouw Orchestra and the Netherlands Chamber Choir: a match made in heaven when it comes to repertoire such as Mozart’s famous Requiem. This last (unfinished) work by one of the greatest composers ever is one of Mozart’s best-loved and most frequently performed works. The combination of the Concertgebouw Orchestra’s velvet strings and dazzling brass, with a top-class cast of soloists and the voices of the Netherlands Chamber Choir, guarantees an impressive performance. The whole concert is conducted by Klaus Mäkelä, the Finn who won his first chief conductorship with the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra in 2018, at the age of 23, and who was recently announced as chief conductor of the Concertgebouw Orchestra starting in 2027.

“One of the best-loved works by Mozart in an impressive performance under the baton of Klaus Mäkelä”

Before the interval, the Concertgebouw Orchestra will perform Sibelius’ Fourth Symphony: a work full of menace and darkness but also interspersed with moments of hope and light, a wonderful counterpart to Mozart’s swansong.
