Nederlands Kamerkoor
With soloists from the choir
Amsterdam Sinfonietta
With Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle, the Nederlands Kamerkoor and Amsterdam Sinfonietta are entering into a new, very challenging collaboration. This masterpiece by Rossini is without a doubt one of the most beautiful and popular works ever written. And although Rossini wrote it on his deathbed, there is a great deal of lightness in the music. Perhaps the piece underlines the unbearable lightness of existence.
Rossini’s composition is without a doubt one of the most popular works ever written.
As always, the Nederlands Kamerkoor and Amsterdam Sinfonietta guarantee a magnificent performance, and – according to tradition – they do so unconducted. Together the ensembles present a brand new arrangement of work by Wijnand van Klaveren, for string orchestra, harmonium, two horns and choir. The soloists come from the ranks of the Nederlands Kamerkoor itself.
