Waarheen, waarvoor?  is a contemporary requiem. It is not a Latin mass, but a combination of stories, music, images and spoken word. How do people with different cultural backgrounds think about death and live before death? Waarheen, waarvoor? unites amateurs and professionals on stage. The starting point and themes of the requiem are interviews with the inhabitants of Utrechts working-class areas. Composers Willem Wander, Joost Kleppe, Gábor Tarján and Anke Brouwer together wrote one requiem for choir and ensemble, with this libretto a basis.
