The Nederlands Kamerkoor has been the choir of the Netherlands for 80 years, and we want to pass our knowledge on to young singers in the Netherlands who want to develop skills in the area of chamber choir music.
Over the past few years our internship programme has become a great success: more than ten interns have joined projects of the Nederlands Kamerkoor, conducted by internationally renowned conductors such as Peter Dijkstra, Hartmut Haenchen and Richard Egarr. After a successful internship, a number of interns have been given the chance to take part in performances in i.e. the Royal Concertgebouw; some interns are regularly asked to sing in the choir’s larger productions.
This year we are again offering a limited number of internships. There are places available in three productions (note: the places for sopranos are unfortunately already taken):
The small size of the choir dictates that only one internship is available per voice group. This does mean that every intern receives a lot of individual attention. As an intern you will rehearse the entire project with the choir, and will be assigned a personal mentor from your own voice group. This mentor will evaluate the project with you and will give you both theoretical and practical advice. In principle interns do not take part in the concerts, though you do get a free ticket to one of the concerts in the series.
You can often receive study points for internships like this. Please ask your own institution for more information.
