Monica has a passion for all Latin dances such as salsa and samba. She also enjoys reading, photography, and animals. She has a cat and a dog.
Since February 2014, Monica has been a member of the Netherlands Chamber Choir.
Solo and ensemble
Monica has performed Bach's St. John Passion, Christmas Oratorio, Handel's Israel in Egypt, Carissimi's Jepthe, Monteverdi's Tancredo ed Clorinda, Vivaldi's Salve Regina, and Ferrandini's Il pianto di Maria under the direction of conductors such as Laurence Cummings, Richard Egarr, Peter Dijkstra, and Risto Joost. Monica recorded various works from the Portuguese Baroque period as a soloist.
She sang Faure's Requiem solo with the Netherlands Chamber Choir and Amsterdam Sinfonietta during a tour of South America, where she performed at the main hall of Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Additionally, as a core member of the Netherlands Chamber Choir, she was featured in one of the episodes of The Personal Archive Sessions.
With extensive experience as a choir and ensemble singer, Monica has worked on occasion with various groups in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and Portugal. Some of these include the Amsterdam Baroque Choir, Dutch Bach Society, Egidius Quartet (Netherlands), Currende, Vox Luminis (Belgium), Gulbenkian Choir, Officium Vocal Group, Sete Lágrimas, and Ludovice Ensemble (Portugal), to name a few.
