A Singer's Farewell

There was a time when growing older was automatically associated with wisdom and respect. Today, that is no longer self-evident. Singing at the highest level has its limits; it is an art form with an expiration date. Sooner or later, singers must bid farewell to the musical family with which they once seemed inseparably bound.

But what happens when you let go of something that has been your anchor for so many years? Is it a farewell steeped in loss, or rather a new beginning that creates space for something else? It is a universal question, one that resonates throughout our society. This performance is a playful and moving exploration of the process of letting go.

With humor, melancholy, and beautiful music from the Romantic era and the early twentieth century. A special collaboration between director Sjaron Minailo, artistic director Tido Visser, singers, and former singers of the Netherlands Chamber Choir.
