Bach's St. Matthew Passion is deeply rooted in Dutch musical culture. This season, we bring this masterpiece to life with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra conducted by Klaus Mäkelä, and the Residentie Orkest under the baton of our chief conductor Peter Dijkstra.

The Netherlands Chamber Choir had the honour of witnessing firsthand the promising collaboration between the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and their new chief conductor. Mozart’s Requiem, led by Klaus Mäkelä, was a thrilling experience. Now, we join forces once again for Bach’s Easter masterpiece.

Nowhere is the St. Matthew Passion performed as frequently or as beautifully as in the Netherlands. This season, the Netherlands Chamber Choir once again collaborates with the Residentie Orkest under the baton of our own chief conductor, Peter Dijkstra. Together with a stellar cast of soloists, we bring Bach’s timeless Passion to life; a compelling retelling of the Passion story—powerful and deeply moving.
