In a special concert, the Netherlands Chamber Choir joins forces with the master of tango, bandoneonist Carel Kraaijenhof, to celebrate the 25th wedding anniversary of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima. This concert commemorates not only a historic milestone but also a memorable television moment from February 2002: the performance of Adiós Nonino by Carel and the Netherlands Chamber Choir. It was a performance that deeply moved Queen Máxima and became legendary as ‘The Tear’.

Together with the Matangi Quartet, they perform a selection of works that highlight the interconnectedness of art, love, and life itself. Among the highlights of the program is a powerful performance of Ariel Ramírez’s Misa Criolla, a work that blends the rich soundscape of South American music with profound spiritual expression. The entire performance is led by the man who was also there in 2002: Ed Spanjaard.
