Youngin Lee

Korean mezzo-soprano Youngin Lee began her musical education at the Seoul Arts High School. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance and a Master's degree in Musicology from Ewha Womans University in Seoul. Deepening her operatic specialization, she pursued a Master’s degree in Opera at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin, studying with KS. Dr. Prof. Ewa Wolak. During her time in Berlin, she was a recipient of the Deutschlandstipendium (2022/23).

Her leading operatic roles include Dido in Dido and Aeneas, Dorabella in Così fan tutte, Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro, Hänsel in Hänsel und Gretel, and the title role in L’enfant et les sortilèges. As an alto soloist, she has appeared in oratorios including Mozart’s Great Mass in C minor and Pergolesi’s Missa S. Emidio.

Her performances have brought her to prominent stages including the Wiener Staatsoper, the Deutsche Oper Berlin (Tischlerei), the Varaždin National Theatre, and the Vienna Opera Festival(Musikverein, Borromäus Hall, Roter Salon, and Mozarthaus in Vienna).

She has collaborated with conductors such as Cornelius Meister, Toby Purser, Darijan Ivezic, and Michael Lessky. In the 2023/24 season, she was engaged as Choir Academy Singer at Wiener Staatsoper under the musical direction of Mario Steller.

She has further honed her artistry in masterclasses with artists including Thomas Quasthoff, Giancarlo del Monaco, Victoria Loukianetz, Mitsuko Shirai, Janet Williams, and Peter Berne.

Youngin Lee currently resides in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Active as an international concert soloist, she is also dedicated to sharing Korean heritage at cultural events, including performances at the Yi Jun Peace Museum and the Jan van Welterehuis (Park Yeon commemoration). Looking ahead, she is scheduled to perform in Holland Opera’s production of Feest in 2026.
